Preview some of the powerful Custom Search Engines you will learn to create here.
Google’s Custom Search Engines (CSEs) have long been a favorite tool for experts searching the Internet. CSEs benefit researchers in many ways: lessening the need for advanced Boolean operators; expanding the limits of Google’s search capabilities; eliminating annoying “Captcha”s triggered by complex searches; and providing a simple way for advanced users to share their most useful searches with less experienced team members.
Some of the advanced features of CSEs require a more technical background to take full advantage of, but anyone can learn to create simple CSEs that will make life easier for them, and their team. In fact, some highly useful, specialized CSEs can be built from scratch in a matter of minutes!
Our presentation will guide you through setting up these simple but useful Custom Searchers, as well as introduce you to you to the full scope of what CSEs can do (including some CSE “hacks” to extend the reach of your searches).
You’ll also get access to more than twenty Custom Search Engines, built and used by our Master Sourcers, which you can use as-is, or use as inspiration for developing your own CSEs.
Who will benefit: Sourcers, Recruiters, Researchers, and everyone who searches the Internet and wants to create CSE’s for themselves and their teams. We expect the attendees to be familiar with the Boolean search syntax on Google.
Takeaways: A library of CSE’s for your research and new skills for building your own!
