Competitive Intelligence (CI) results from a company's efforts to gather and analyze information about its industry, business environment, and competing and services.
Sourcers and Recruiters can apply the same research techniques and gain valuable information about the market. Doing so provides value from intake (advising hiring managers) to close (advising or negotiating with candidates).
When sourcing, access to previously gathered intelligence educates and enhances the sites, tools, and search strings to use. As an example everyone is familiar with, you can source using a target company list; knowing which companies are hiring or firing and in which locations will inform your search further.
If sourcing follows thorough research, it results in faster work, more comprehensive talent pipelines, unique prospects, and informed interactions.
This class will cover various techniques to help assess the competitive landscape for your company or requisition. You will learn how to use familiar tools (e.g., search engines, job boards, social networks) in new ways. You will learn to apply these techniques to find competitors in an industry or location, similar job titles within a range of companies, which companies use the same technology or methods as your own, salary data, and much more.
